Network Attached Storage
Servers (NAS):
Small Business & Enterprise Solutions:
Data-intensive applications such as, data
warehousing, data mining, real-time video and email access
can greatly impact your enterprise's already overburdened
network and storage systems. This data explosion is driving
the need for easy-to-manage, high-performance, enterprise-class
storage systems.
Com21net can help you manage your expanding
data needs. Combining our systems and storage expertise,
we provide scalable, network storage solutions based on
highly integrated storage systems and software.
Industry trends indicate most data storage
will move off general purpose servers and onto dedicated
storage systems. This will make your network more efficient
by taking the data storage load from your general purpose
servers. Your bandwidth will increase and you will no
longer have to worry about taking the network down to
add more hard drives for data storage purposes. Com21net
proposes two simple steps to incorporate Storage Server
technology to your corporation. The first step is to move
your storage to a dedicated system called network-attached
storage (NAS). The next step is the convergence (not replacement)
of your NAS with a storage area network (SAN) which allows
for nearly unlimited storage configurations, where any
server or storage system can exchange data with any other
server or storage system. This evolutionary strategy provides
a solution that meets your needs to store and manage large
amounts of data today, and massive amounts tomorrow.
As companies migrate from server-centric
to storage-centric environments, they need the flexibility
to build new storage systems based on existing ones. Com21net
unique approach, called managed scalability, allows companies
to do just that. Beginning with department level NAS,
and easily expandable for the integration of SAN's, our
solutions are designed with the future in mind and to
decrease the total cost of ownership.
Compared to the many hours it can take
to install a UNIX or NT server, our storage servers install
in two easy steps:
- Plug in a standard Ethernet cable and
power cord,
- Turn on the switch.
It is now ready to use and with no network
downtime. And in the future when you need to add more
capacity to your storage server, you don't have to bring
down your general purpose server because the storage server
runs independently of the other servers in your network.
You can add the extra hard drives in the middle of the
day without bringing down the network. You can even backup
your network on the fly at any time of the day!!!
With its highly intuitive, browser-based
administration tool, our storage servers are as easy to
manage as they are to install.
Our storage servers are compatible with
Windows 9x, NT, 2000 (CIFS) and UNIX (NFS) clients simultaneously
and have automatic 10/100 Ethernet detection.
